Who we are & what we do

If your goal is pain relief & better performance...

Elevate your LIFE at MUSCLE IQ!

Many people find MUSCLE IQ through word of mouth, perhaps a success story told by a friend who has attended our Provo physical therapy clinic.  The doctors at MUSCLE IQ offer powerful solutions to treat common joint and muscle conditions.  What makes us exceptional?  Our doctors are trained to examine your problem from a completely different perspective.

Whether you are an active participant in life or someone who has been challenged with persistent pain, we will find the SOURCE of your PROBLEM or condition and work with you to find a SOLUTION.

What to expect on your first visit

On your first visit, you will receive a thorough examination to determine your joint and muscular health and fitness.  Our primary goal is to identify muscle weakness.  A weak muscle is either the cause of your problem, or it is an indicator of the consequence of an injury or condition.

The doctors at MUSCLE IQ usually start with hands-on testing followed by computerized medical equipment testing.  These tests will help us diagnose and pinpoint the source of your problem.  An acurate diagnosis makes rehab treatments a hundred times more effective.

The examination will also help us detect your Muscle IQ score.  This score is a measurement of your capacity to protect your body from injury and repetitive strain.   At the end of your visit, we will give you the results.

During your first visit to our provo physical therapy clinic, you will also receive targeted manual therapy treatment based on the examination findings.  The purpose of the treatment is to reduce your symptoms and turn on weak muscles.

Following your exam appointment with the Doctor, you will schedule a second appointment.  On your second visit, the Doctor will continue with targeted manual therapy treatments, set-up your medical exercise routine, and review the findings from your exam.  The review will outline your specific muscle and joint problems.  You will also discuss your treatment plan with the Doctor.  The staff will then help you to set up a series of appointments to get you on the road to balance and wellness.

Why choose us

  • Fascial Distortion model (FDM)

It’s actually a treatment model in which virtually all soft tissue injuries, or musculoskeletal complaints, are viewed through 1 or more of the 6 different types of alterations to the body’s connective tissues.

The patient’s verbal and physical descriptions, coupled with the mechanism of injury and relevant orthopedic tests, will lead the practitioner to the proper form of soft tissue treatment.

And for this reason, no other soft tissue approach can reproduce the outcomes repetitively across the board as well as we can!

  • David Machines

We use the David Spine Concept (medical exercise equipment from Finland) to rehabilitate back, neck, shoulder, and knee muscles. It is a comprehensive evaluation and treatment concept for musculoskeletal disorders. The concept uses carefully targeted movement and controlled loading to reverse the deconditioning syndrome related to musculoskeletal pain. These values are compared to reference values matched to a patient's age, gender, height, and weight. This allows us to track progress in strength and range of motion. An individualized exercise program is generated based on these measurements. With the test results from the David machines we can tell our patients how far they are from normal strength. We retest strength and range of motion at set intervals. We can objectively prove the gains our patients are making in strength with our testing reports. Your doctor or your insurance company will also like seeing your progress.

Do you have difficulty or pain with walking? Try walking on air! Thanks to its precise unweighted technology, the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill allows you to push your physical therapy rehabilitation and training further than ever before. This treatment method can help in the rehabilitation process for the numerous injuries.

HUBER MOTION LAB is... A 3-D exercise like nothing else in the world!  Lower, middle, upper, right and left, front and back, your entire body is fully engaged...  All of your muscle chains get reactivated, all muscle groups are compelled to work together.  The oscillating platform generates instability for the lower body... the mobile column creates instability for the upper body... handles capture the strength... the feedback on the screen provides information and the body adapts.
